Funds <br />Program. The Department of Natural Resources' Northern Fire Center has asked <br />the Metropolitan Council to help distribute these materials to fire departments <br />in the region. PLEASE FORWARD TO YOUR FIRE CHIEF IMMEDIATELY. <br />The guidelines indicate that 3133,000 may be allocated to Minnesota in Fiscal <br />Year i983, although congressional action is still needed to secure the monies. <br />The grants will be made available on a <br />if a fire department plans to purchase <br />$5,000, the maximum grant amount would <br />50 percent matching basis. For example, <br />personal safety equipment costing <br />be $2,500. <br />The grants are available only to cities with populations under 10,000, that <br />protect rural residences, and that do not use a subscription response system. <br />For more information, please contact: <br />Carson C.
