GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT APPLICATION CONTINUED <br />FUNDING WILL NOT BE ALLOWED FOR: <br />1. Repair or Construction of Buildings. <br />2. Urban Water Systems. <br />3. Land Acquisition. <br />4. Routine maintenance of fire equipment (such as tires, <br />batteries, engine overhauls, etc...). <br />5. Equipment not fire related, such as Ambulance Rescue Equipment. <br />6. According to Federal Guidelines, funding cannot be granted to <br />single communities with a population of 10,000 or more. <br />In addition to the above restrictions, funding will not be approved <br />to those city fire departments that do not protect rural residences or <br />that use a subscription response system. <br />Federal Auditors require an inventory control on all items purchased <br />with Matching Funds that have a purchase value of $300.00 or more. Records <br />will be maintained and prior approval must be obtained before disposition <br />of those items. <br />All applicants will be notified of the approval or disapproval of <br />their projects. Those approved will be advised of the amount of Matching <br />Funds available for their project. Those departments not funded due to <br />shortage of funds will be considered for later funding if more funds <br />become available. <br />If your Community or Fire Department is interested in applying for <br />the Title IV Matching Funds please do the following: <br />1. Complete the attached questionnaires. <br />2. Mail the completed questionnaires postmarked no later than <br />January 22nd, 1983 to: <br />CARSON C.
