1202. MINORS IN PUBLIC PLACES <br />1202.010. MINORS. It shall be unlawful for any minor under the age <br />of eighteen (18) years to loiter, idle or be in or upon the public streets, <br />highways, roads, alleys, parks, playgrounds or other public grounds, public <br />places and public buildings, places of amusement, entertainment, or <br />refreshment, vacant lots or other unsupervised places between the hours of <br />10:00 o'clock p.m. and 5:00 o'clock a.m. the following day; provided, however, <br />that the provision of this Section shall not apply to such minor accompanied <br />by his or her parent, guardian or other having the care and custody of the <br />minor or when the minor is upon some necessary errand by permission or <br />direction of his or her parents, guardian or other adult person having the <br />care and custody of the minor, which said permission shall be in writing and <br />signed by such parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and <br />custody of the minor. <br />1202.020. CUSTODY OF MINOR AND RESPONSIBILITY. It shall be unlawful <br />for the parent, guardian or other adult having the care and custody of a minor <br />under the age of eighteen (18) years of age to permit such minor to loiter, <br />idle or be in or upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, <br />playgrounds, or other public grounds, public places and buildings, places of <br />amusement, entertainment or refreshment, vacant lots, or other unsupervised <br />places between the hours of 10:00 o'clock p.m. and 5:00 o'clock a.m. of the <br />following day; provided, however that the provisions of this Section shall not <br />apply when the minor is accompanied by his or her parent, guardian or other <br />adult person having the care and custody of the minor or when the minor is <br />upon some necessary errand by permission or direction of his or her parent, <br />guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor. <br />1202.030. MANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC PLACE. It shall be unlawful for any <br />person, firm or corporation operating or in charge of any place of amusement, <br />entertainment, or refreshment to permit any minor under t:Ld age of eighteen <br />(18) years of age to remain in such place during the hours prohibited by this <br />Code; provided, however that the provisions of this Code shall not apply when <br />such minor is accompanied by his or her parent, guardian or other adult person <br />having the care and custody of the minor. <br />1202.040. SCHOOL NIGHTS DESIGNATED BY MAYOR UPON REQUEST. The Mayor, <br />upon the request of the Superintendent of the Public Schools of the City of <br />Little Canada, may designate certain nights during the school year as "school <br />nights" at such times as said schools shall be engaged in athletic, musical, <br />dramatic or social activities for the benefit or entertainment of its <br />students. The provisions of Sections 1202.010 and 1202.020 of this Code shall <br />not apply to any student under the age of eighteen (18) years of age or to his <br />parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of such <br />minor who is lawfully going to, attending or returning from any such school <br />function on any designated "school night" or "youth night ". <br />
