MINUTES
Planning
Commission
(7 July 1, 1982
Johanson matters going just to the Council and not to the Planning commission.
Variance Mr. Costa commented that he had no objection if it saved the applicant
(Cont.) money. Mr. LeMay agreed.
Mr. LeMay recommended that the ordinance be amended. The Planner
commented that if this were done, the City must set certain standards
and sizes. Mr. LeMay stated that he wanted to get away from some of
these fees.
Mr. Nielson stated that a screen house near the water must be subject
to some sort of review.
Mr. DeLonais suggested that the matter be handled under the proposed
shoreline ordinance.
Mr. Nielson stated that if the Commission was in favor of including
this in the shoreline ordinance, the Commission should act on the
variance request subject to the provisions in the ordinance being
drafted.
Mr. Costa commented that the Commission would like it so that if
someone wanted to put up a small structure on the lake it does not
cost them $300 in City fees.
Mr. LeMay commented that the variance approval should not be tied to
the provisions being drafted in the shoreline ordinance. Mr. LeMay
felt the matter would best be handled by two separate motions.
Mr. Querin stated that there could be some link if the matter was handled
in one motion. Mr. Querin stated that the only reason to link the two
together would be if the City would consider returning the fees paid
by Mr. Johnason.
Mr. DeLonais made a motion approving the variance for Mr. Johanson for
the construction of a screen house.
Motion seconded by Mr. Ducharme.
Motion carried 5 — 0.
Mr. French commented that he felt the size of the fees involved were
ridiculous and stated that some of the fee should be returned.
Jespersen Mr. Jespersen appeared before the Commission requesting approval of
Final Plat his final plat. Mr. Jespersen stated that the final plat is the same
as the preliminary plat. Mr. Jespersen commented that his surveyors
will have everything ready for the July 14 Council meeting.
Mr. French asked if the plat met the recommendations of the City
Engineer. Mr. Jespersen replied that it did.
Page —3—
