Approval
Of The
Minutes
County Road
C Properties
Metaltronics
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
PLANNING COMMISSION
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
August 5, 1982
The regular meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of Little
Canada, Minnesota was held on the 5th day of August, 1982 at 7:30 P.M.
at 515 Little Canada Road in said City.
The following members of the Planning Commission were present:
Tom Ducharme, LeRoy LeMay, Gene DeLonais, Jim Steele, and Roy
French.
The following were absent: Myers Frattalone, Pete Costa, Sharon
Timmons, Joe Vitale.
Also present at the meeting were Brad Nielson of Northwest Associated
Consultants and Kathleen Glanzer, Recording Secretary.
Mr. DeLonais indicated that the minutes of the July 1, 1982 Planning
Commission should be amended so that the first sentence in the tenth
paragraph states that "lakehomes possibly may have boathouses ".
With that correction, Mr. DeLonais moved that the minutes of the
July 1 meeting be approved. Motioned was seconded and the motioned
carried 5 to 0.
Mr. Nielson indicated that there will be someone present at the
meeting representing County Road C properties. Mr. Nielson suggested
that the Commission withhold action until the party arrives.
Mr. Ed Sheehy, the contractor for Metaltronics, appeared before
the Commission. Mr. Sheehy reported that the building Metaltronics
is proposing would he a pre -cast concrete building. Mr. Sheehy
submitted a plan showing landscaping and parking for the building
along with exterior elevations. Sheehy commented that the building
complies with City Codes in every aspect that was possible. However,
they are asking for one variance. That would be that they not be
required to pave the hack parking area. Metaltronics is requesting
that the area either just be graded or crushed rock or gravel put in.
Mr. Sheehy commented that the City's Building Inspector was concerned
with emergency access for emergency vehicles going around the
building. Sheehy informed the Commission that the building will
be fully sprinklered.
Mr. Sheehy also commented that Metaltronics does not need all the
parking that is shown on the site plan. Also all this parking
would not help the run —off situation.
Mr. Sheehy commented that the building inspector was concerned that
on the southeast corner of the building the loading area was not big
enough for semis. There will be no semis on that part of the
driveway. Semis will be confined to the other side of the building.
Page —1—
