PLANNING
COMMISSION
August 5, 1982
Metaltronics
(Cont.)
The Planner asked if Mr. Lee had plans for the installation of a burm
between the residential and commercial property. Mr. Lee replied
that he had a previous plan approved for this property and it did
not call for a burm.
The Planner commented that he thought this requirement went back
to the rezoning of the property. The Planner was certain that the
Council had requested a burro. The Planner stated that he thought
the burm was to be installed as part of the industrial development.
Mr. Lee replied that he has put a burro in on the south side of the
Building C. The Planner replied that he has not seen the landscaping
plan for this. The Planner also commented that he was not sure that
the Council specifically requested the burro, but that it was talked
about.
Mr. Ducharme expressed concern that there was not enough room to get
a semi in on the north side of the building. Mr. Ducharme also
pointed out that there are parking spaces in the area that the
semi would be manuevering. Mr. Block agreed that when a semi
was in it would take away about 4 parking spaces. Mr. Block pointed
out that there is 90 feet of area for semis to move around.
Currently in Metaltronics present building the semis have 70 feet
of space to work with and they have no problems. Mr. Block also
informed the Commission that currently Metaltronics has 18
employees.
The Planner stated that if all parking is counted, Metaltronics
has provided more parking that what is required.
Mr. DeLonais asked Mr. Block if he had any problem with putting
crushed rock in the parking area that he did not wish to pave. Mr.
Block relied that he had no problem with putting in the crushed rock.
Mr. LeMay asked if the crushed rock were installed if a variance would
he necessary. The Planner replied that the ordinance says the parking
area must he surfaced to control dust. Crushed rock would do that.
'dr.French asked if a variance would be needed for the driveway. The
Planner replied that the ordinance says the driveway he is proposing
would be allowed if approved by the City Engineer.
Mr. DeLonais made a motion approving the Metaltronics plat subject
to the recommendations of the City Planner and subject to crushed
rock being installed in the parking area not proposed for paving.
Motion seconded by Mr. Ducharme.
Motion carried 5 - 0.
Page -3-
