Building Official. The appointing authority may appoint as many deputy <br />inspectors as shall be required to carry out the functions of the Building <br />Department, and it may remove such deputies at its pleasure. <br />302.030. ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR. The governing body may appoint an <br />Electrical Inspector. <br />302.040. QUALIFICATIONS. Any person appointed to the position of <br />electrical inspector shall be a competent electrician who shall have had at <br />least two years experience as a journeyman in the practice of his trade or two <br />years training in a recognized college of electrical engineering, shall be <br />well versed in approved methods of electrical construction for safety of life <br />and property, the statutes of the State of Minnesota relating to electrical <br />work, the rules and regulations issued by the Industrial Commission of <br />Minnesota, and the Railroad and Warehouse Commission of Minnesota under <br />authority of the statutes, the National Electrical Code, as approved by the <br />American Engineering Standards Committee and the National Electrical Safety <br />Code, as approved by the American Engineering Standards Committee. <br />302.050. CONFLICT OF INTEREST. The Electrical Inspector shall not <br />engage in the business of the installation and the maintenance of electric <br />wiring, electric devices and electrical material either directly or indirectly <br />in the municipality and he shall have no financial interest in any concern <br />engaged in such business in the municipality. <br />302.060. DUTIES. The Electrical Inspector shall make a thorough <br />inspection of the installation in buildings of all electric wiring, electric <br />devices and electric materials now installed, or that may hereafter be <br />installed, within this municipality and when the installation of any such <br />wiring, devices or material is found to be in a dangerous or unsafe condition <br />he shall notify the person, firm or corporation owning, using, operating or <br />installing the same in writing to place the installation of such wiring, <br />devices and material in a safe condition and he shall immediately place a <br />notice in a conspicuous place upon such dangerous or unsafe wiring, devices <br />and material stating that said wiring, devices or material is unsafe and shall <br />not be used until it is put in a safe condition and therefore it shall be <br />unlawful to use said wiring, devices, and material until it has been placed in <br />a safe condition and has been inspected and approved by said Inspector. <br />302.070. PLUMBING INSPECTOR. The governing body may appoint a <br />Plumbing Inspector. <br />302.080. QUALIFICATIONS. The person appointed to the position of <br />Plumbing Inspector shall be a competent plumber who shall have had at least <br />two years experience as a journeyman or master plumber in the practice of his <br />trade. He shall be well versed in approved methods of plumbing construction, <br />the statutes of the State of Minnesota relating to plumbing work and the <br />Minnesota Plumbing Code as adopted by the Minnesota State Board of Health as <br />amended. <br />23 <br />
