300 Metro Square Building, 7th Street and Robert Street, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55101 Area 612, 291 -6359 <br />TO: Prospective FY '83, LAWCON /LCMR Grant Applicants <br />SUBJECT: Supplementary Information, and Forms for Metropolitan Council Review <br />of FY '83 LAWCON /LCMR Grants <br />COUNCIL CRITERIA FOR EVALUATING GRANTS <br />Attached to this memorandum is the criteria the Metropolitan Council will use to <br />evaluate FY '83 LAWCON /LCMR preliminary grant applications. <br />if you have questions about the criteria, contact Arne Stefferud at 291 -6360. <br />INFORMATION AND FORMS REQUESTED BY THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br />In addition to the information requested by the Dept. of Energy, Planning and <br />Development (items H- K), .the Metropolitan Council requests the following: <br />1. The site map in the application (Item I) should be drawn to scale with a <br />north orientation arrow. <br />2. Along with the five year recreation action plan (i.e., Capital Improvement <br />Program - Item J), please indicate whether this CIP has been adopted by your <br />community's governing body. <br />3. The recreation plan (Item K) should also include an inventory of your local <br />park system. You can use the inventory from the Parks and Open Space Chapter <br />of your community's comprehensive plan or if that plan isn't completed yet, <br />prepare an inventory using the following classification system: <br />Mini -park: Serves a limited population or specific age group such as <br />tots or senior citizens and is usually less than one acre in size. <br />Neighborhood Park /Playground: Area for intense recreational activities <br />like field games, court games, crafts, apparatus area, skating and <br />neighborhood centers. <br />6J <br />An Agency Created to Coordinate the Planning and Development of the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area Comprising: <br />Anoka County o Carver County o Dakota County o Hennepin County o Ramsey County o Scott County o Washington County <br />An Equal Opportunity Employer <br />
