Page 2 <br />Community Playfield: Area for intense recreation facilities like athletic <br />fields and swimming pools. It may include some neighborhood park facilities. <br />Community Park: Area of natural or ornamental quality for outdoor <br />recreation such as walking and picnicking. It may include some fields <br />and court games. <br />Local Trail Corridor: Area developed for one or more modes of recreational <br />travel such as hiking, biking, ski - touring, etc. Do not include bikeways <br />or highways on street rights -of -way. <br />List the acreage of each 'park or trail corridor using the classification <br />system above and state whether it is developed or undeveloped. <br />Do not list: Golf- courses, wetland or ponding areas for stormwater retention, <br />street triangles or any other open space land which does not provide for the <br />recreation activities listed above. <br />4. Describe the public participation process used in preparing your application. <br />5. Fill out the two forms (enclosed) and return them with the preliminary <br />application to the Metropolitan Council. <br />Form 1 - Metropolitan Council Demographic Profile and Maintenance /Program <br />Description <br />Form 2 - Local Fiscal Effort Worksheet <br />Questions regarding these forms should be directed to Charles Smith (ph. 291- 6522). <br />INFORMATION NEEDED AT SITE INSPECTION <br />After preliminary applications are submitted on April 30, the Council and DEPD staff <br />will make arrangements to inspect the project site during May 10 -14. <br />Please bring along a copy of your communities' parkland dedication ordinance; <br />wetland, shoreland and /or floodplain ordinance; and shade tree disease control <br />ordinance. You have the option of sending a copy of these ordinances along with <br />your grant application. <br />HOUSING PERFORMANCE POINTS <br />The Metropolitan Council considers a communities' performance in providing low- and <br />moderate - income housing as part of its review of your LAWCON /LCMR grant application. <br />The Council's Housing Performance Points are being revised at this time. They <br />will be sent to your city manager, administrator or clerk the week of March 15, 1982. <br />If you have questions or concerns regarding the points awarded, contact Guy <br />Peterson at 291 -6527. No revisions to your communities' Housing Performance <br />Points will be made after April 30 for the purpose of evaluating your LAWCON /LCMR <br />grant application. <br />66 <br />
