City Councfi� <br />January 14, 1981 <br />City <br />Planner <br />Mr. Hanson 'Introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81 -1 -35 - AWARDING THE BID OF PRECISION <br />EATIUSCAPH10 -FOR TREE REMOVAL CONTINGENT UPON THE CONTRACT <br />BEING REVIEWED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr, Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Hanson, Fahey, Nardini, Scalze, Forsberg. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 19. <br />The City Planner reported that there are a number of code violations in <br />Ryan Industrial Park. Some of the violations are prior to the new <br />Zoning Ordinance, but there are some that are after the ordinance. <br />Mr. Nielson stated that he will be in the office on January 26th and <br />he will make a list of these violations. <br />The Planner reminded the Council that a special Council meeting has <br />been set up on the 28th of January to review the proposed rezonings <br />In the City. At that time the Planner would like to review the status <br />of the Comprehenisve Plan and Metro Council's review of the plan. <br />Metro Council has suspended review of the plan pending some additional <br />information it wants from the City on the Housing Plan. The Planner <br />stated that he will prepare something for this. <br />The Planner informed the Council that there are a number of sign violations <br />in the City. He stated that he will make a list of these violations. <br />Mr. Hanson expressed concern that the City's ordinance prohibits signs <br />for advertising purposes. <br />The Planner stated that signs should be for building identification. <br />Mr. Nielson expressed concern over the number of large flashing signs <br />in the City that are a hazard to safety and visibility. <br />Hanson stated that the City may have to advise every business in the City <br />about the Sign Ordinance. <br />Councilman Fahey stated that the Council has more important concerns at <br />this time than to worry about signs. The Council should finish the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />The Planner stated that he would like some direction. There 1s an ordinance <br />on the books and either the City enforces it or it doesn't. <br />The Council also asked the Planner to take a look at the plan for the <br />Stenger mini - warehouses and be prepared to discuss it at the meeting on <br />the 28th. <br />Tax Mrs. Scalze informed the Council that the Park Commission has recommended <br />Forfeited that the City accept the tax forfeited property located on Twin Lake Blvd. <br />Property They are recomnending it be used for park purposes. <br />Page -11- <br />'74 <br />
