City Council <br />January 14, 1981 <br />Approval <br />Of The <br />Vouchers <br />Frattalone <br />Claim <br />Mr. Forsberg stated that the Planning Commission is recommending that <br />the City obtain the tax forfeited property, but not use it as a park. <br />Mrs. Nardint that if the City considers this property for senior citizen <br />housing, it should be aware that this property is just as close to shopping <br />as the property it had considered off of Jackson and Little Canada Road. <br />The City Clerk informed the Council that if the City accepts the property <br />and intends to use it for senior citizens, the City must pay all State. <br />and Federal liens against the property. If the property is used for <br />park or open sapce, the City does not have to pay anything. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and roved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81 -1 -36 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO <br />OBTAIN —FROM THE cbUNTP ANY LIEN INFORMATION THAT EXISTS <br />ON THE TAX FORFEITED PROPERTY ON TWIN LAKE BLVD. KNOWN _ <br />AS PARCEL #53-03110-020-55 AND PARCEL 853- 03110- 030 -55 . <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Hanson, Fahey, Forsberg, Nardini. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 20. <br />Mr. Hanson stated that the Council is approving the vouchers by a new <br />procedure. All checks other than payroll will not be issued until the <br />Council approves the vouchers. All checks were written prior to Council <br />approval in the past. <br />Mr. Forsberg introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. B1 -1 -37 - APPROVING PAYMENT OF THE <br />VOUCHERS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson. <br />Ayes (5) Forsberg, Hanson, Nardini, Scalze, Fahey. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 20. <br />The Attorney informed the Council that Shafer Construction's insurance <br />company has refused to pay the Frattalone claim. The City has been <br />withholding $132.00 from Shafer Construction until the claim is resolved. <br />The City Clerk asked if State aid money could be withheld from the <br />City because the City has not fully paid one of its contractors. <br />Mr. Forsberg suggested that the City pay Shafer the money it owes <br />them and let Mr. Frattalone solve the matter himself. <br />Mr. Fahey stated that if the contractor did not give Mr. Frattalone <br />the correct fill, the city is involved. <br />Page -12- <br />I J <br />
