Sept. 16, 1981
Little Canada City Council
• Dear %W.114}
The Little Canada Canadian Days Committee for 1981 wishes to
thank the City Council for its past support of our city celebration
each summer.
In conjunction with our desire to eventually be financially
self sufficient, the comittee is requesting a 1982 budget cut
from the $1500 plus police protection we received in 1981 to $1000
plus police protection in 1982.
We appreciate your consideration of our budget request and
hope for your continued support of our efforts to create a summer
celebration our citizens can enjoy participating in.
The Committee would also like to take this opportunity to
express its interest in seeing a more diverse recreation program
developed by our city Recreation Director.
Though we presently have a good active sports program, we feel
the present program is directed too much toward organized sports
and neglects those who are either not interested in or not able
to participate in competative sports activities. There are other
types of recreational activities that could serve those of other
age groups, both younger and older, with other interests or
capabilities.
We are not asking that there be any less interest in the sports
programs, but only some attention to other possibilities be given.
Sincerely,
The Little Canada Canadian Days Committee
Secretary
7R
