LICITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
Office of:
JOSEPH G. CHLEBECK, Clerk
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minn. 55117
484 -2177
MEMO
December 5, 1983
1b: City Council
Planning Commission
FROM: Ed Locke, Building Official
MAYOR
Raymond Hanson
COUNCIL
Michael Fahoy
Beverly Scalze
Dennis Forsberg
Mugs Nardini
1 Commercial Building Permits - Commercial building permits should not
have to go before the Planning Commission, because it would hold up a
Contractor too long from starting a job. As long as all the require-
ments of the zoning code are met, there is no reason the Planning
Commission should be involved other than wanting to know what is go-
ing on in the City. If the Planning Commission wants a report on
commercial building permits, I would be happy to send them a copy.
2. Appendix "E" - There seems to be a big misunderstanding of just what
Appendix "E" is and what type of business would have to be sprinkled.
Appendix "8" is now part of the State Building Code, and it is up to
the Building Official to enforce the requirements the same as any
other requirement of the State Building Code (such as H/C require-
ments, footing requirements, etc.) If the City Council and Planning
Commission would like to have a workshop on Appendix "E ", or any
other questions they might have on the zoning or building code, it
might be worth while to arrange a meeting.
3. Manufactured Housing - When special requirements are made into an
ordinance for manufactured homes, those requirements would also have
to be enforced on all new homes built in the City. So keep this
in mind when acting on a new ordinance about manufactured housing.
EL:bj
--e
OCC 5 1983
CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA
1r
ti
