MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 22, 2013 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 22nd day of <br />May, 2013 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Council Member Ms. Shelly Boss <br />Council Member Mr. John Keis <br />Council Member Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Public Works Supt. Mr. Bill Dircks <br />City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />2013 GOAL The Administrator indicated that the purpose of tonight's workshop <br />ACTION meeting is to review progress on several of the 2013 Goal Action <br />PLAN Plans. <br />PROGRESS <br />REPORT The first goal is "Evaluate Business Retention Expansion Program ". The <br />EVALUATE Administrator indicated that providing expansion opportunities for <br />BUSINESS existing businesses is difficult given the very limited amount of raw land <br />RETENTION available in the City. He noted the potential for involvement in the <br />EXPANSION Greater MSP efforts and reviewed the on -line survey that this organization <br />PROGRAM has. <br />The Council discussed outreach efforts for local businesses, and the <br />consensus was that a survey be used to make contact with smaller <br />businesses and that site visits be used for larger businesses. Site visits <br />would be conducted by the Mayor, Council representation, the City <br />Administrator, and other staff members. The City Administrator indicated <br />that he would draft a survey form for the Council's review. He would also <br />compile a list of larger businesses for site visits. <br />
