NORTHWEST ASSOCIATED CONSULTANTS INC.
MEMORANDUM
TO: David Licht
FROM: James Vick
DATE: 28 June 1983
RE: Little Canada - Ramsey/Washington Watershed District
FILE NO: 758.09 - 83.25
On June 24th an Advisory Committee meeting for the Ramsey /Washington
County Watershed District was held. This was the first progress report
in the process of creating a comprehensive watershed management plan.
In attendance were representatives from each community within the
district, as well as the District Administrator, President of the Board,
and the Project Engineer.
The criteria for evaluating the USFW Type was discussed. This part of the
identification is straight - forward and encountered few problems. It was
suggested if a water resource has been filled in, scheduled to be filled,
or has been moved, that it be noted as such in the REMARKS column along
with a brief description of where water is or will be directed.
The following concerns were brought up relative to the completion of the
identification and classification form. The LEVELS of water quality
management are vague in the criteria used to distinguish them. At this
point, it is suggested that each community complete the form with the
definitions given. A thought process of determining criteria will then
be discussed after the forms are completed in rough draft. Additional
concern was discussed with reference to the Ranking column. It is suggested
that ranking be in the perspective of the District, however, if the
municipality perspective is different, it should be noted in parenthesis.
A tenative meeting was set up for July 22. The identification and classi-
fication form is to be completed in full prior to this date. A deadline
of July 11 is suggested in order to allow Barr Engineering adequate time
to compare and review the forms.
A closing note suggested that the cities involved consider nominating a person
for the board. The board currently has five members, but is allowed up to
nine members because of the new Chapter 509 legislation.
cc: Joe Chlebeck
TI:11n3176111!
JUN 9n 1983
oiTY OF
4820 minnetonka boulevard, suite420 minneapolis, mn 5541Qg 2 AD 0
