MINUTES
Planning Commission
August 4, 1983
T)
Hoffman Div.
(Cont.)
Mr. Licht felt that the current 40' wide street to the property
would be sufficient.
The Planning Commission members were not all in agreement as to whether
or not the existing 40' wide driveway was sufficient to provide
access to 6 lots.
Gene DeLonais made a motion to table the proposal until a more
detailed presentation can be made by the developer, along with
the Planners report.
Motion seconded by Tom Ducharme.
Motion carried 5 -0.
Manufactured Mr. Licht stated that the Council wanted a recommendation from the
Homes Planning Commission soon. There is now litigation on cities not
allowing manufactured homes. Mr. Licht felt that a massive application
of low value housing any where in the city was not acceptable.
The Blaine proposal calls for a 24' width requirement and also requires
a pitch roof, which, while would allow a double wide mobile home, it
would in design, look better.
Peter Costa asked what the Council's hurry was in wanting to draft
on ordinance.
Sharon Timmons asked if the Little Canada City attorney had submitted
an opinion on the provisions for manufactured housing.
The Planning Commission felt that perhaps, the City could wait and see
what action is being taken by other cities.
Tom Ducharme pointed out that we, a small city, already had 3 trailer
courts and didn't need to encourage any further mobile homes in
residential areas.
Sharon Timmons made a motion to take no action on this matter, but
to make it an on -going study until such time as the Planning Commission
had sufficient information on current litigation and other action
on this matter by other cities, and that the Planning Commission requests
an opionion from the City Attorney, and also requests that a member of
the City Council be present at the next Planning Commission meeting, to
present the Council's view on the matter.
Motion seconded by Gene DeLonais.
Motion carried 5 -0,
P,JAc1('
