NORTHWEST ASSOCIATED CONSULTANTS INC.
MEMORANDUM
TO: Little Canada Mayor and City Council
FROM: David Licht /71I/v
DATE: 4 October 1983
RE: Speedy Market
FILE NO: 758.09 - 83.35
On 3 October, Mrs. Klein contacted me relative to the fence matter on the
Speedy Market improvement. As you are aware, she will be out of town on
12 October when this matter will likely be finalized. Her position is that
she would prefer chain link fence to extend further back from Rice Street
than the 30 feet which had been suggested by our office. Since the solid
fence was being added for the protection of Mrs. Klein's property and
assuming Speedy Market has no concern, we would suggest that the required
fencing be in compliance with Mrs. Klein's wishes. This is of course with
the understanding that once it is in place, it is not the prerogative of
Mrs. Klein to request a modification.
Mrs. Klein also raised the drainage damage which she claims has been done
to her property. I indicated to her that the past damage was likely a civil
matter between her and the property owner creating the problem. The City's
main jurisdiction at this point is to assure that future drainage is handled
properly with the overall site improvement plans. The Council may, however,
wish to have the City Engineer look into this problem.
cc: Joseph Chlebeck
Tom Sweeney
Don Carley
Ed Locke
John Hogenson
Mrs. Klein
g, 'J
2
4820 minnetonka boulevard, suite 420 minneapolis, mn 55416 612/925 -9420
