page 4 <br />Personnel Ordinance <br />(b) Superintendent of Public Works - No overtime compensation shall be paid. <br />However, such employee shall be paid additional straight time pay for all hours <br />worked which are in excess of 40, but not more than 48 (8 hours maximum). For <br />all hours worked in excess of 48 hours per week, such employee shall receive <br />compensatory time off at the rate of 11 hours compensatory time for each hour <br />worked in excess of 48 hours per week. <br />(c) Recreation Director and Assistants - Shall be paid on an annual salary <br />basis and shall not be entitled to any overtime compensation. <br />(d) All Other Full Time Employees - Except where otherwise agreed to in <br />writing between the City and the employee, all such employees shall be entitled <br />to pay at the rate of time and one -half (11x) for all hours worked in excess of <br />40 hours per week, or in lieu thereof, the employee may elect compensatory time <br />off at the rate of 11 hours compensatory time for each hour worked in excess <br />of 40 hours per week. Use of compensatory time shall in all cases be subject <br />to the needs of municipal service and prior approval of the employee's Department <br />Head. Each Department Head shall be responsible for providing the City Clerk with <br />an accurate accounting of all such hours accrued and used by an employee. <br />(e) Use of compensatory time by Department Heads shall be subject to the prior <br />approval of their respective Council liason- person. An accurate accounting of <br />all such hours accrued and used shall be given by each Department Head to the <br />City Clerk for filing. <br />(f) It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to maintain on file accurate <br />record; for all employees, showing the amount of compensatory time accrued and <br />used by each City employee. <br />(g) Compensatory time shall accrue and be used on a calendar year basis. <br />Any compensatory time not used by an employee during a calendar year shall <br />be forfeited. <br />Sec. 10: Legal Holidays. <br />(a) The following holidays will be observed by full time employees: <br />New Year's Day <br />President's Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Veterans' Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Day after Thanksgiving <br />Christmas <br />When New Years Day, Independence Day, Veterans' Day, or Christmas Day falls on <br />Saturday, the preceding day shall be observed as a holiday. If one of the <br />four (4) holidays falls on a Sunday, the following day shall be observed as <br />a holiday. <br />21 <br />
