MINUTES City Council Feb. 9, 1983 1983 Sewer & Mr. Fahey suggested Water General Fund. Glanzer reported that NSP estimated that the City could have saved $700 in its electrical costs in one year. Mr. Glanzer reported that he has received a price of $329 per capaciter without installation. The City would need two. Mr. Fahey commented that he felt it was fair to the City to charge a portion of the City Garage bond on the General Fund as everyone in the City benefits from the City's water system through fire protection. Mrs. Scalze reported that if the City can get its fire rating reduced from 7 to 6 it could save each homeowner about $40 per year in insurance premiums. Mrs. Scalze stated that at the time the new pumper is added to the Fire Department is the time to work on the City's fire rating. The City Clerk reported that these ratings are looked at every 10 years and 1983 would be the tenth year for the City. Mrs. Scalze asked where the money will come from in the General Fund to pay for the City Garage. The City Clerk suggested the Contingency Fund. Mr. Forsberg asked if the City can afford it without getting into a bind. The City Clerk reported that he will check into it before it is done.
