MEMORANDUM
TO: File
FROM: David Licht
DATE: 10 February 1983
RE: Little Canada Transportation - Highway 61
FILE NO: 758.11
The following is a summary of a meeting held with MnDOT officials on
7 February 1983. Attendance - Joe Chlebeck, Jerry Zac, Gene Frederick,
Don Carley, Roger Glanzer, Earl VanBerkom, and David Licht.
The State Highway people presented plans to the City staff outlining
changes proposed for a full diamond interchange at the intersection of
Highway 61 and I -694. Part of these plans will affect County Road D
which was blocked from through movement across Highway 61 last summer.
In the future County Road D will be cul- de -saoed at the rail road tracks
so that there will be no through movement further to the east. Turn
lanes will likely be added at the bridge area in diamond interchange
for the frontage roads when the proposed improvement is implemented.
Construction at this time is projected for 1987.
Mr. Chlebeck questioned a possible frontage road from County Road D
to Bean Avenue. The City of Maplewood had pushed this concept in the
past. Mr.Zack from the Highway Department indicated that he would look
into this matter as they will be presenting these plans to Maplewood.
MnDOT staff was asked to keep the City informed of these matters and
planning as it continues.
cc: Joe Chlebeck
Don Carley
Roger Glanzer
T211'qp
FEB 14 1983
CITY OF
UTTLE CANADA
