MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
PLANNING COMMISSION
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
September 8, 1988
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the
Planning Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held
on the 8th day of September, 1988 in the Council Chambers of the
City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City.
Since there was not a quorum present, Chairman Costa informally called
the meeting to order at 7:50 P.M. At 8:10 P.M., the fourth member of
the Commission arrived, and the Chairman officially called the meeting
to order:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Peter Costa, Chairman
Bill Davison
Gene DeLonais
Art Herkenhoff (arrived 8:10 P.M:)
MEMBERS ABSENT:
ALSO PRESENT:
Thomas Perlinger
John Pope
Peggy Schweizer
Steve Grittman, City Planner
Kathy Glanzer, Recording Secretary.
Wm. Conley The Planning Commission reviewed the letter submitted by the Building
CUP Inspector dated September 8, 1988 outlining necessary building and site
Auto Sales improvements at 190 and 192 Ryan Lane. It was noted that William Conley
And Repair has made application for a conditional use permit to operate an auto
sales and repair business in the west half of the building.
The applicant, William Conley, reviewed the Building Inspector's letter
and reported that he would not be operating a spray booth in conjunction
with his business.
Costa questioned the City's ability to require the site improvements
noting that Mr. Conley does not own the building.
The City Planner reported that the building was not constructed in
accordance with the site plans originally submitted. Also, the City
has been trying to cooperate with the business owners in Ryan Industrial
park to get some minimal clean -up of the area completed.
DeLonais felt that the City should relax its stance with the business
owners in the Park and try to work with them more,so in turn they will
work with the City.
The Planner reported that the City has been working for a long time
in trying to get Code compliance in the Park. The Planner pointed
out that there have been internal building changes done in the Park
which the City was never informed about since no building permits
were ever taken out.
Page 1
