Mr. Michael Fahey
Mayor
515 E. Little Canada Rd.
Little Canada, Minn. 55117
Dear Mr. Fahey,
% Little Canada City Center
515 E. Little Canada Rd.
Little Canada, MN 55117
August 29, 1933
The Little Canada Snowmobile Club has been using the City Center for
over 5 years for their meetings. We have never damaged anything. We
leave the meeting room in the same condition it was when we arrived. We
hold very organized meetings' for the purpose of setting up club functions.
Our membership has always been comprised of Little Canada residents
and surrounding community residents. All of the members did at one time
live in Little Canada, and of the ones that aren't residents any longer, most
of their families still live there(parents,etc.).
Our club does not snowmobile in the City of Little Canada because of the
restrictions of the city. We use the City Center to set up well organized trips
out of the city, in areas of Minnesota where snowmobiling is allowed and
welcomed. The snowmobiling that is done, and complained about, in the City
of Little Canada, is not our club. It is comprised of private individuals
and their friends that don't know the restrictions,` or don't care about the
laws that your fine city tries to enforce. They are not real snowmobilers.
We are a well organized group of families trying to enjoy and save a
sport we dearly love. We only ride on legal state trails, etc., where snow -
mobiling is allowed.
We represent the City o£ Little Canada proudly and professionally to the
whole State of Minnesota, and any state, we snowmobile in. Several years we
have represented Little Canada in the March 'of:Dimes Super 400. This is a
fund raising event for true snowmobilers that raises money for babies in need.
The Little Canada Snowmobile Club members are all members of our State
Association - Minnesota United Snowmobile Association. Our club is well
known for helping and participating in many things.
Our club has also been involved in Canadian Days. for at least 10 years.
Every year we pull together people to make the cities festival a success.
For the past few years we have put on the Corn Give -away for Canadian Days,
which is put on totally by our club, from organizing it, to doing all the
work of serving it. The Committee then reimburses us for the expenses of
the corn and materials to serve it only. We enjoy Canadian Days and are
always willing to do our part in making it a success. Our club members are
alsovery good publicity. We all let friends, co- workers, and family, know
when Canadian Days is, and a lot of them come and join the festivities from
PAGE -35
