RAMSEY COUNTY - DRAFT September 8, 1988 <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL FOR LAND <br />DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CITY OF <br />The City Council of the City of <br />ordains: <br />Section 1.0. Purpose. in response to the Metropolitan <br />Water Management Act and the Water Management <br />Plan and the reed for erosion and sediment control for land <br />development, the purpose of this ordinance is to control or <br />eliminate erosion and sedimentation within the city of <br />It is designed to preserve. land value <br />throughout the city; to prevent the pollution of streams, lakes, <br />wetlands, and other watercourses by sediment and related <br />construction materials, to establish design standards and <br />specifications for practices and planning activities which <br />prevent soil erosion and sedimentation; to preserve and enhance <br />the natural beauty and aesthetics of the community; and to <br />protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of <br />C t, <br />Section Z.U. Scope. Except as exempted by Section 3.6, any <br />person, firm, corporation or business proposing land disturbance <br />activity within the city of C' G _.._ shall apply to the <br />city for the approval of the erosion and sediment control plan. <br />No land shall be developed until the plan is approved by the city <br />and conform to the standards set forth herein. <br />Page 41 <br />
