PUBLIC WORK'S STANDBY POLICY <br />1. STANDBY (ON CALL) <br />A. On call status consists of seven consecutive days <br />beginning 8:00 a.m. Wednesday to 8:00 a.m. the following <br />Wednesday. <br />B. Upon receiving an emergency call, by any means available, <br />the on call employee will respond as soon as possible. <br />The employee will proceed to the site with a City vehicle <br />when possible. <br />C. An employee who is not able to respond to a call due to <br />health or personal reasons, shall contact another City <br />employee to respond. If a second employee cannot be <br />located, the on call employee will respond to the call. <br />D. The on call employee will notify the Ramsey County Sheriff <br />Department with the proper information for any <br />notification. <br />E. Discretion in alcoholic beverage consumption should be <br />exercised while serving on call duty. <br />F. An employee who fails to respond in one hour is subject to <br />disciplinary action as covered in the Personnel Policy. <br />G. On call sheduling may vary according to the discretion of <br />the employer. <br />H. When two or more calls are received simultaneously, the <br />most important call will be handled first. If a second <br />call is received, prior to the employee arriving at his <br />residence, the call will not be a second call back. It <br />shall be part of the original call and not computed as a <br />minimum call back. <br />I.
