MINUTES
City Council
July 27, 1988
Huot Bow &
Arrow Permit
Agenda Item
No. 14
St. John's
Convent CUP
Mr. Henry Huot appeared before the Council requesting a
permit for use of a bow and arrow on his property in Little
Canada. He stated that one of the reasons he wanted the
permit was so his son and the boy scouts could earn archery
merit badges. Mr. Huot reported that it would be under
supervised conditions.
Mr. Fahey commented that the Huot's lot was a small lot.
t1r. Fahey thought a larger lot was more appropriate. Mr.
Blesener felt the ballfields were too close to the Huot's
lot and this could present a dangerous situation. Mr. Fahey
stated that the Council has debated about outlawing the
Ordinance all together and felt that an open field was a
more appropriate place to shoot arrows. The Council did not
approve the request; however, Mr. Fahey stated that he would
reconsider if Mr. Huot found a proper place to shoot
arrows. Mr. Fahey also stated that the Council would have
to deny tir. Innman his permit. Mr. Fahey requested that the
Clerk put the bow and arrow ordinance on the agenda for the
next City Council meeting for the Council to review.
Currently the public can still apply for these permits.
Mr. LaValle arrived at the meeting.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
usalaTIQN NO, 88-7-298 - APPROVING THE
ST.
