MINUTES <br />City Council <br />June 8, 1988 <br />MSA Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />(Cont.) <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88 -6 -242 - REQUESTING THE <br />COMMISSIONER OF HIGHWAYS TO APPROVE THE USE <br />OF MSA FUNDS FOR THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD <br />BRIDGE IMPROVEMENT AND AUTHORIZING REPAYMENTS <br />FROM SUBSEQUENT ACCRUALS TO THE CONSTRUCTION <br />ACCOUNT OF THE MUNICIPAL STATE -AID STREET FUND <br />FOR THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Fahey, Collova, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 246. <br />Bow & The City Clerk reported that the City has received an application from <br />Arrow Mr. Edward Inman, 785 LaBore Road, for a bow and arrow permit to shoot <br />Permit on his property. The Sheriff's Department is agreeable to the permit <br />provided it receives the approval of the City Council. <br />Agenda <br />Addition Scalze stated that she was not in favor of granting the permit, pointing <br />out that the City's Ordinance prohibits the shooting of bow and arrows <br />within the City. <br />The City Clerk agreed that such permits are prohibited unless approved <br />by the City Council. <br />Collova stated that he was not opposed to granting a permit for shooting <br />of bows and arrows within a controlled archery range. <br />Scalze felt that problems would be created by approving this permit and <br />suggested that the City Council obtain the opinion of the City Attorney <br />before taking action on the permit request. <br />Fahey agreed and suggested that the Attorney give the Council an opinion <br />including information on the liability issue as well as his experience <br />in other cities. <br />Play 21 <br />Request <br />Agenda <br />Addition <br />The City has received a request from Marijo Greeman for a gambling permit <br />to allow Play 21 within the City. The Council concensus was to deny this <br />permit request. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88 -6 -243 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY <br />ATTORNEY TO REVIEW THE GAMBLING ORDINANCE TO <br />PRECLUDE THE PLAY 21 GAME AS AN ALLOWABLE GAME, <br />Page 26 <br />
