Division Manager Re- assignments, SACC Program Assignments, 5/2/88, P. 2 <br />4. Chuck Wiger is designated the responsibility of government <br />affairs manager. SACC -wide legislative issues will be addressed <br />year- around through the SACC Government Affairs Committee. <br />Divisions will be counseled on how to be more effective in working <br />with city governments. Select county and metropolitan issues will <br />be identified to determine possible SACC /Division positions on them. <br />Chuck will continue to serve as manager of the North St. Paul /Maple- <br />wood /Oakdale and Cottage Grove Area Chamber Divisions. <br />Division Boards will share in these responsibilities as they cooperate with <br />their managers to assure their time is dedicated to the priority Division <br />issues. Committees at the Division level will, have greater accountability <br />for achieving objectives they set for the Division program year. Your manager <br />will serve as the resource person to committees, and especially Boards, but <br />member involvement will be essential to the completion of desired tasks. <br />The object is to assure you receive QUALITY time from your manager in the areas <br />for which they have the best talent to produce, and at the same time allowing <br />members the freedom to produce programs representative of their special expertise. <br />Your executive vice president will continue to serve the At Large Division and <br />the SACC -wide programs involving the: <br />Education Commission <br />Recycling <br />Economic Development <br />Special Events -- MN Twins, North Stars, Athena Award, Golf Outing, <br />Silent Auction, Annual Meeting <br />Administration responsibilities for the executive vice president include: <br />Policy Development, Long Range Planning <br />Personnel <br />Administration, Finance and Budget <br />Public Relations <br />The future prospect of a management assistant is being explored to provide <br />support for program responsibilities still assigned to the executive vice <br />president. An August /September time -line is under consideration. <br />President Bob Granovsky joins with your 1988 -89 SACC officers and the entire <br />SACC Board in making these important staff assignments. Your feedback through- <br />out the year is welcome. Any immediate questions or observations are invited <br />and may be directed by phone to Gene Strommen, President Bob, Vice President <br />Ken Flug, Secretary Cliff Aichinger and Treasurer Larry Kohler. <br />Thank you for your assistance in the constructive role you will have in <br />making this work to everyone's best advantage. <br />Page 7 <br />
