No person, firm or corporation <br />shall engage in the business of keeping, maintaining or operating any <br />gasoline filling station in the City without first obtaining a license <br />therefore from the Council of the City and paying a license fee as <br />hereinafter provided. For the purpose of this Chapter, a gasoline filling <br />station is hereby defined to be any place, building, pump or device <br />maintained and used on private premises or upon any public place in the <br />City, for the main purpose of selling or dispensing gasoline or other oils <br />for use in motor vehicles of any kind. <br />801.020. APPLICATION AND EXPIRATION. Applications for such <br />licenses shall be made to the Council in writing, and when granted by the <br />Council said license shall be issued by the Clerk to the application <br />therefore, upon the presentation by him of a receipt from the Treasurer, <br />showing payment of the license fee herein required. All licenses issued <br />under this Chapter shall expire one (1) year from and after date of issue, <br />unless revoked for violation of a State law or City ordinance. <br />801.030. TRANSFER OF LICENSE. Such license shall be transferable <br />only (first) when the licensee desires to change his place of business, <br />and (second) when the licensee has sold and disposed of his business. No <br />transfer of any such license shall be made except with the consent of the <br />Council. All applications for consent of the Council to the transfer of <br />any license shall be made in writing and be signed by both the licensee <br />and the person or persons to whom it is desired to transfer the same. <br />801.040. LICENSE FEE. Where the gasoline filling station as herein <br />defined is located wholly on private property, the annual license fee for <br />such license shall be and is hereby fixed as follows: <br />Page 15 <br />
