MINUTES
Planning Commission
April 14, 1988
Boosalis
Development
(Cont.)
Bergstrom agreed that a park was needed in the area especially with
the large population in the area in apartment units.
George Gregory, 50 Iona Lane, stated that Iona Lane residents have
been compromising for the past several years on developments to the
east and north. Gregory felt that in the future Boosalis would request
a rezoning of his property to the east and request either quads or
apartments. Gregory reported that the market value of his home was
increased by $10,000 by the County and felt that there was no reason
for Iona Lane residents to compromise any further.
Boosalis stated that he is not requesting a rezoning of the property to
the east and if it remained R -1 he could live with that. Boosalis again
stated that he is only requesting a rezoning to B -3 for the property
along Rice Street.
Davison felt that the Commission needed to see a plan with street lay -outs
for the property to the east before it could act on the development
proposal for the Rice Street frontage.
Pierce agreed that this is what the residents want to see and also
want to know who would be responsible for the cost of development of
road in that area.
Mr. Davison recommended denying the Boosalis conditional use permit
to amend the Boosalis PUD agreement by an additional development,
subdivision and rezoning as presented since the proposal does not
address the development of the balance of the property to the east.
Motion seconded by Perlinger.
Motion carried 6 - 0.
Schroeder Davison recommended tabling consideration of the Schroeder lot split
Lot Split since there was no one present to represent this request and he had
several questions he would like answered before he felt comfortable
acting on the request.
Foyt
Variance
There was no one present to represent the Foyt variance request.
The City Planner reported that the Foyt's are requesting a property
division of a 10 by 65 foot strip of property on their south property
line which will be combined with the Rindelaub property so that the
Rindelaub home would have a setback of .9 feet. A variance has been
applied for for this setback. Both property owners, the Foyt's and
Rindelaub's, are in favor of the proposal.
Page 8
