MINUTES Planning Commission April 14, 1988 Adjourn going back with an offer of $435,000 and no ties to the Capitol View property. Blesenerrenorted that the City has a lease agreement with the School District for Spooner Park that runs through the year 2,000. The City can live with this agreement for the time being if the School District insists on the connection of Capitol View to the Spooner Park purchase. Also, the City has the right of first refusal on the Spooner Park property. Blesener stated that the School District is looking to get the most money it can from the Capitol View property and that is why they want the property rezoned B -3. DeLonais asked if the property east of the Capitol View site was needed if the City purchases the Centerville Road property. Blesener replied that the Council Davison pointed out that the Iona there are no parks in the area. feels the property would be needed. Lane residents expressed concern because DeLonais pointed out that most of the apartment complexes in the City have recreational facilities. Blesener reported that the Recreational Director feels that the tennis courts as well as ballfields should be retained. The soccer fields and track are next priority with the inside recreational facilities rated last. Blesener stated that he questioned the need for retention of the inside facilities and noted the high maintenance costs that would be involved with the pool. Blesener suggested that the Commission review the City Center expansion concept plan and if they have any questions or comments to let him know. Mr. Herkenhoff recommended that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Davison. Motion carried 6 - 0. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
