The Improvement Project consists of:
• Improvement of the pedestrian ramps at the Interstate 35E on and off ramps to
meet ADA standards.
• Mill and Overlay of the curbed section of Little Canada Road from the Interstate
Bridge to approximately the east end of the existing concrete curb and gutter.
• Full depth reclamation of the remainder of the street to Edgerton Street. In this
section concrete curb and gutter will be added and the main traffic lanes will be
moved to the north to provide room for the construction of a concrete sidewalk
on the south side of the street. Storm sewer improvements will be added to
serve the new curb and gutter section.
• Right turn lanes will be added on Little Canada Road at McMenemy Street and
Edgerton Street, Right turn lanes will also be added on Edgerton Street.
• A parking lane will be constructed on the north side of Little Canada Road from
approximately the Union building entrance to the west entrance of the parking lot
adjacent to Global Volunteers.
Bids are to be received by 10:00 a.m., June 261h, 2013 and we will provide an update to
the council agenda packet for that nights meeting. The addition to the agenda will
provide a summary of the bids received and general thoughts as to the competitiveness
of the bids. If the bids are within the expected range we will likely have a
recommendation for award which would be contingent on approval of the award by
Ramsey County and approval of a final cost sharing agreement between the City and
County.
