ZLfl411c s .assoa -arcs Memo TO: Honorable Mayor & City Council Members FROM: Lee Elfering, City Engineer DATE: June 21, 2013 RE: No Parking Resolution - Little Canada Road As explained in our original memo to the City Council the "No Parking" resolution for Little Canada Road is required by Mn /DOT State Aid to receive state aid funding approval. In the resolution we outlined two areas by project street stationing where parking would be allowed. As some or most of you may not be aware of the location of these areas based on stationing a further explanation of the locations is as follows. The largest area of parking will be the north side of the roadway from Station 310 +20 to 315 +75. This area begins just west of the union building driveway located across the street from the skate park and goes to approximately 40 feet west of the westerly most driveway of the parking lot next to the Global Volunteers building. The second area is on the south side of the roadway from 309 +70 to 310+0. This location is the current bump out in front of the church offices and parking will approximately match the existing area. The largest impact of the no parking resolution will be the street parking available for Church services and functions. City staff has met with representatives from St. Johns Church several times throughout the design process to keep them apprised of the proposed design and to gather their input on the improvements relative to the on street parking, the intersection of McMenemy Street and Little Canada Road, the area in front of the cemetery, and the sidewalk. While the street parking area will be more limited than the shoulder areas that are currently utilized, the Church agrees that the other benefits of the project outweigh the decrease in street parking.
