RAMSEY COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES
3383 NORTH RICE STREET WILLIAM K. CONTER, JR.
ST. PAUL MINNESOTA - 55112 DIRECTOR
PHONE: 484 -8466
September 19, 1984
Little Canada City Council
515 E. Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Gentlemen:
The Emergency Services Directors of Northern Ramsey County would like to
request permission from the City of Little Canada to install an emergency
two -way radio repeater system at the Little Canada Water Tower on Little
Canada Road.
This system would allow inter -city communications between the directors
during times of emergency and disaster. Installation of the system would
require a small area inside the shell of the tower at its base. An antenna
feed line would be routed from this location to the top of the tower, where
it would terminate into an antenna. This installation would not affect the
integrity of the water tower or even the water supply itself.
This site was selected due to the following reasons:
1. Distance from other towers carrying radio communications re-
sulting in minimal interference.
2. No other systems of this nature exist at this site, again
resulting in little or no interference.
3. Centrally located in the proposed coverage area.
4. Good ground elevation and tower height resulting in maximum
coverage of the area.
We would appreciate your consideration of this request. Funds for the system
and its installation have preliminarily been approved, with installation
occurring sometime during the second quarter of 1985. If you have any
questions regarding this system, please contact me through this office.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Mark H.
