Mr. Fuchs reported that there is a circulation
Variance problem at the Tom Thumb store and, therefore, Fuchs would like
to request approval of the existing two -way drive system being
changed to an enter -only drive on the south end and an exit -only
drive on the north end. There would also he some angle parking
in the lot and about 10 additional spaces added on the public -
right -of -way. A variance is requested for this. Tom Thumb is
requesting to take about 5 or 6 feet of the public right -of -way.
Mr. Fuchs reported that there would be about 20 feet of driving area
between the parking spaces, and this is adequate for angle- parking.
Mr. Davison commented that the enter and exit -only concept was tried
before with no success at Tom Thumb. Mr. Fuchs reported that the
reason it was not successfull in the past is that there was no angle
parking involved. Mr. Fuchs stated that people will find it difficult
to go against the flow of traffic caused by the angle - parking if they
do not enter the facility properly.
Page -1-
