CHLEBECK, Clerk
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, Minn. 55117
484 -2177
MEMO
TO: Joe Chlebeck
FROM: Bud Nagovsky
DATE: October 31, 1984
RE: 1. Tom Thumb Parking
2. Paul Wharton Second Accessory Building
MAYOR
Raymond Hanson
COUNCIL
Michael Fahey
Beverly Scalze
Dennis Forsberg
Mugs Nardini
1. After the discussion with you and the Planner about the Tom Thumb parking
lot, I checked the accuracy of the measurements submitted by Tom Thumb on
their site plan. It appears as though the measurements are accurate. The
only thing I would question would be the exact location of the lot lines.
This could be verified by a certified survey. The parking stall width and
depth and aisle dimensions meet the requirements of the zoning ordinance.
All parking spaces and the aisle should be clearly marked with striping.
The direction of travel should be marked by signs and on the driving sur-
face.
2. On October 29, 1984 I red - tagged a second accessory building at
185 E. Demont. The building was about 50% complete and no building permit
had been issued. My interpretation of 903.020 D. -4 was that one accessory
building would be allowed for each residential lot. It was decided at our
discussion that this was not what the former building official had followed,
but that all accessory buildings could not exceed 1,000 sq. ft. The
Planner agreed that the intent of the ordinance was to limit the number
of accessory buildings to one per lot. An amendment with a language change
should clarify the intent of the ordinance.
Respectfully,
Ave- -l/" / Nagovsky
LN:bj
018
