Timmons stated that ifit's not feasible to get
Spooner Park, the City should be looking at land it can buy. Timmons
felt that the quality of life in the City must be considered. Mrs.
Timmons stated that Little Canada is probably the only City in the
Metro area without any park land.
Mr. Costa questioned if the City can afford to give up more land
when it has already lost so much land to non - taxes. Costa questioned
if the City could continue to absorb these costs.
Mr. DeLonats stated that he has heard that the additional ballfields
would be rented out for tournaments.
Mrs. Zoch stated that as a Park Commission member she is concerned
with the needs of children. However, there are Park Commission
members who feel that the needsof young adults should also be considered.
Mr. DeLonais pointed out the multiple use parks that are in Roseville.
Mr. French stated that there are no fields available in Little Canada
if neighborhood kids want to get together for a game of softball.
Mr. French recommended that the meeting he adjourned.
Motion seconded by Mr. Costa.
Motion carried 9 - 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
et-CI •ei
Kathleen Glanzer 0
Recording Secretary
Page -8-
