11N1111' S
Planning Commission
June 14, 19A4
R & S (Cont.)
Larry Lee
Rezoning
Mrs. Timmons asked if a delay would penalize R & S. Mr. DeLonais
pointed out that they are operating without a permit, therefore,
any delay was created by R & S.
The Planner stated that the applicant can proceed with the correction
of some of the problems.
Mr. DeLonais stated that he would like to look at the area before
acting on the request.
Mr. Thurston reported that the applicant wants to cooperate and
will keep the area as clean as possible. The lack of a conditional
use permit was an oversite on the applicant's part.
'Mr. Larry Lee was not present at the meeting to present his rezoning
request.
Mr. DeLonais stated that he would liketo hear the comments of those
people here. DeLonais stated that in the media it has been indicated
that all the people in the area want the area rezoned Light Industrial,
and this is not true.
Mr. Ron Lackenmeyer of Burke Lane appeared before the Commission and
presented them with a petition signed by the property owners against
the rezoning. Lackenmeyer pointed out that they are surrounded by
commercial zoning and feel that any further rezonings would effect
their property values.
Mrs. Bougie appeared before the Commission and reported that they
did not want the area to be zoned commercial, but it went that way
anyway. Mrs. Bougie stated that they would like the area either all
industrial or all residential.
Mrs. Zoch reported that the residents of the area fought a previous
rezoning and lost. They are now located right across the street
from business zoning. Mrs. Zoch also explained the erosion problem
they have on their property from the trailer court.
Mrs. Zoch explained a proposed land exchange between Mr. Lee and
her property. Zoch also reported that Mr. Lee indicated that he
should have no trouble getting the property rezoned.
Mrs. Zoch stated that if the property is rezoned industrial, her
property will be surrounded on three sides by industrial and will
have business zoning across the street. Therefore, if the rezoning
is approved Mrs. Zoch requested that her property be rezoned also.
Mr. DeLonais felt that the Burke Lane people should stay buffered
so that industrial does not go up to their property.
Page -3-
•
