MINUTES
Planning Commission
July 12, 1984
Parks (Cont.) Mrs. Timmons commented that the Parks Commission does the work
in this area. Timmons also pointed out that the City does not
own any park land.
Council
Agendas
Richards
Matter
Mr. DeLonais asked if anyone has approached the School District
about Spooner Park. Mrs. Kingsbury replied that the School District
has been approached and they refused to sell the park.
Mr. DeLonais stated that the City should not be in the business of
promoting ball tournaments for outsiders. DeLonais was also
concerned about taking a lot of property off the tax rolls.
Mrs. Timmons commented that there are a lot of children who need
parks and that the City must maintain a standard of living for its
residents.
The Planner also pointed out that park land would be purchased from
park charges that the City collects.
Mrs. Timmons pointed out that the Park Commission has a member of
the Council at its meetings and felt that the Planning Commission
should have Council representation.
Mrs. Kingsbury requested that the Planning Commission members
receive a copy of the Park Commission minutes.
Mrs. Kingsbury commented that the Planning Commission received copies
of Council agendas for a very short time and then this was discontinued.
Kingsbury requested that this be done on a regular basis.
Mrs. Timmons expressed concern that Mr. Richards was issued a
building permit for his pool and fence and then after it was
installed, Mr. Richards was told that the pool is not within
setbacks. Timmons felt that the location of the pool should
have been known to the City before the pool went in and the
Building Inspector would have discovered the problem before the
pool was completed.
Palmen PUD The Planner reported that the Palmen PUD request is withdrawn at
this time, but Mr. Palmen is working on another proposal.
Page —10—
