NORTHWEST ASSOCIATED CONSULTANTS INC.
August 14, 1984
Mr. Lewis Rustad
R &S Automotive
38 Woodlynn Avenue
St. Paul, Minnesota 55117
RE: Little Canada - R &S Automotive (Conditional Use Permit, PUD)
File No: 758.09 - 84.21
Dear Mr. Rustad:
As one of the requirements for a conditional use permit, we have requested
that the salvage yard be screened and landscaped. During the review process
this will require a landscape plan for the site. Enclosed are two landscape
plans which are designed to provide industrial screening. While these draw-
ings are somewhat more elaborate than we will need from you, they will give
you an idea of design and density of materials.
We are recommending that the entire eastern border and the east 135 feet of
the south border be landscaped. The most effective screen will be created by
evergreen trees. Trees should be planted 8 -10 feet on center in two rows
which are off -set (White, Red or Austran Pine offset with Spruce trees works
well). Due to the large exposure of the R &S site, small potted trees (1 -3
feet) will be sufficient. This will keep costs to a minimum without sacrificing
complete screening for the future.
In addition to a plan which will show the placement of the trees, the land-
scape plan should include a materials list and an estimated cost. The City
will more than likely require a security bond to ensure work is completed.
This information will expedite the processing of the PUD agreement.
Should you have any questions, feel free to call me at our office.
Sincerely,
NORTHWEST ASSOCIATED CONSULTANTS, INC.
©¢`,nom
James R.
