File Page Two
5 August 1984
Capital Improvements Program. The Watershed Management Plan has presented a
five year capital improvements program. The issues which involve the City of
Little Canada include:
1. 19.85 - Hydrologic /Reconnaissance Study of flooding on Lake Gervais and
connecting chain of lakes.
2. 1986 - Feasibility Study of flooding on Lake Gervais and chain of lakes.
3. 1988 - Ditch reconstruction or storm sewer installation for County Ditch
7A between LaBore Road and Westwind Development.
4. 1988 - Regrade and slope County Ditch 7B - Branch B -1 between Arcade
Street and County Road D at Payne Avenue.
5. 1989 - Ditch cleaning and reshaping and slope stabilization of County
Ditch 16 west of I -35E.
From a Watershed District standpoint, County Ditch 7A is not top priority.
However, due to recent flooding, the City may want to push this project ahead
of the District's Capital Improvements Program. County Ditch 7B is currently
under study with the proposed Cecka Subdivision. This project should be com-
pleted before any development can occur in this area.
Time Schedule. It will still be about one year before the Watershed Management
Plan is approved for implementation. Until that time, the District is inter-
ested in reviewing only those projects greater than one acre in size or those
in the flood plain (elevations of 863.5 feet or less).
cc: Joe Chlebeck
Don Carley
Ed Locke
Mugs Nardini
