LASSOCIATES, IN`G!®
ConsuNing Engineers —Land Surveyors
City Council
City of Little Canada
515 East Little Canada Road
St. Paul, MN.
Dear Council Members:
500 West Highway 96
St. Paul, Minnesota 55112
484 -3301
June 8, 1984
Re: Yorkton Industrial Park
On May 14, 1984 I accompanied Ed Locke to look at the
excavating work being done at Yorkton Industrial Park. It
was obvious that this work had been in progress for
several days or weeks. I pointed out three items which
would be of some concern.
First there is a steep bank which is dangerous
without a fence.
Second there is a possibility that there is
encroachment on the railroad R.O.W.
These two items have nothing to do with the City and are
the responsibility of the owner.
The third item which I felt may be of concern to the
City is the fact that this work is taking place in
the area zoned residential. I suggested to Mr. Locke
that this should be checked. Since it is a legal
matter, I placed a call to the City Attorney.
Incidentally, there was no work going on at the time
I was there. A day or two later I am informed that the
work commenced again.
This work was ordered stopped by a member of the Council.
I therefore did not pursue the subject. It was placed on the
Agenda for May 23. As a result, we were instructed to review
the grading work as it relates to the approved grading plan
on file in the City Nall. In so doing, we also checked
actual elevations by survey.
