Mr. Joseph Chlebeck
Clerk Administrator
City of Little Canada
515 East Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Dear Mr. Chlebeck,
71 Iona Lane
Little Canada, MN 55117
April 12, 1984
APR .7 1984
CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA
RE: Payment of Assessment Improvement 82 -6,
Watermain Iona Lane
Relative to the assessment for the referenced watermain installation, I
wish to pay the assessment in full. This option is described in the
notice of pending public improvement issued by the City of Little Canada.
In attempting to make payment in full, I was informed by the Ramsey
County Department of Property Taxation that I could only pay the principal
amount remaining after the amount billed on the 1984 property tax state-
ment was deducted. To close out this assessment as early as possible
and to save the interest that would accrue, I made payment for the total
amount remaining. I was then informed that the interest that was stated
on the 1984 property tax statement would still have to be paid in full.
No previous information was given regarding these positions taken by
the Ramsey County office.
i still wish to pay the assessment in full plus the accrued. interest
necessary to date. If payment on the assessment and the interest must
be made as shown on the property tax statement, it appears that the
interest being required is excessive and no longer correct. The bulk of
the assessment amount has been paid and it appears that payment as shown
on the tax statement includes interest for the entire amount for a whole
year.
Any assistance you can give in removing the interest charged on an
assessment already paid up will be appreciated.
Respectfully,
Marvin N. Lee
5
