Reference: Metropolitan Council Appointment Dear Mayor Fahey: I recently applied for appointment to the Metropolitan Council. I am seeking appointment to represent District 3 which includes: Falcon Heights, Little Canada, Maplewood, New Brighton, North St. Paul and St. Anthony. I am writing to you because you currently represent a part of District 3 or have another interest in this appointment. For the past five years, District 3 has been represented by Charles William Wiger. Mr. Wiger's term expires in January, 1989 and he has withdrawn his application for re- appointment. I am taking this opportunity to tell you more about my qualifi- cations, to give you an idea of how I would represent the District and to ask for your support. I have attached a copy of my application for the position. I am especially proud of the 20 years of community service in both elected and appointed positions. During that time I have gained knowledge and exper- ience dealing with many of the issues addressed by the Metropo- litan Council. And just as important, is the experience I have gained by working with elected officials and government employees at all levels. If appointed to the Council I pledge to work closely with you and all others who represent the citizens of District 3. But first, in order to be appointed, I need your support.
