MINUTES
EMERGENCY SERVICES COM•IMITTEE
March 1, 1989
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a meeting of the
Emergency Services Committee was held on the 1st day of
March, 1989 in the Council Chambers of the City Center
located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City.
Mr. Palacio chaired the meeting and introduced all those
present at the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to
further discuss the evacuation plan of the North Star
Trailer Park. At the previous Emergency Services Committee
meeting they recommended to the Council that they accept the
evacuation route as prepared by the owners of the Trailer
Park, It was the opinion of the Emergency Services
Committee that due to the floodplain and other hazards in
the area, the evacuation plan would suffice best. They
could use the fire hall on Little Canada Road and also the
Ramsey County garage on Rice Street.
THOSE PRESENT:
JV Investments
JV Investments
Fire Department
City Clerk
Building Official
APAC
APAC
Councilman
Bldg. However, we do have
borings of the Little Canada garage which is south of the
Park. The test indicated that we have sixteen feet of peat
under the garage. The garage is a metal building on a
concrete slab. The Engineer also mentioned that no way
could an underground building be built in this area. John
Palacio mentioned that the building would be a pored
foundation, a slab with block or precast walls. In no way
can you compare the weight of a shelter to the weight of a
trailer.
Page 10
