To the Little Canada Planning Commission
Page Two
allow each city or suburb the option of choosing to what degree they may allow
businesses located within their jurisdiction to meet or not meet state storm
shelter criteria. The point of all this is that it would be wise of me to take
into account future possible contingencies and construct the building in such
a way that door placement, ceiling height, etc. allow for the potential par-
titioning off of part of the proposed utility building for use as a storm
shelter should the need arise.
The present land which the new utility building would occupy consists of the
back yard to the office which is used basically for nothing at present and,
also, a portion of the clothes lines area. Due to the use of clothes dryers
within tenants' homes now, this area is not used as it was years ago. A smal-
ler clothes lines area would be retained and be more than adequate for today's
degree of use.
Paul Anderson
Page 28
