MINUTES <br />City Council <br />August 24, 1988 <br />Fina <br />Serve <br />(Cont.) <br />Conley CUP <br />For Auto <br />Sales <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 9 <br />Scalze suggested that before the Ordinance is amended, the City Planner <br />and City Clerk should look at what other cities do in similar situations. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88 -8 -350 - INSTRUCTING THE <br />CITY PLANNER AND CITY CLERK TO RESEARCH THE SIGN <br />ORDINANCES OF OTHER CITIES WITH REGARD TO HEIGHT <br />LIMITATIONS AND TO DETERMINE THEIR POSITION IN A <br />SITUATION WHERE AN IMPROVEMENT IS MADE TO A BUILDING <br />THAT HAS AN EXISTING NON- CONFORMING USE, IF THEY <br />WOULD ALLOW A NON- CONFORMING SIGN TO REMAIN, OR <br />IF THE PROPERTY OWNER WOULD BE REQUIRED TO REMOVE <br />THE NON- CONFORMING SIGN AND REPLACE IT WITH ONE <br />MEETING CODE REQUIREMENTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Collova, LaVaile, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 20, Page 358. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88 -8 -351 - DECLARING THAT IN <br />VIEW OF THE STUDY OF THE NON - CONFORMING SIGN <br />ISSUE, NO ACTION WILL BE TAKEN BY THE CITY <br />TO REQUIRE FINA SERVE TO BRING THEIR CURRENT SIGN <br />INTO CONFORMANCE WITH CODE REQUIREMENTS PENDING <br />FURTHER STUDY AND ACTION BY THE COUNCIL <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. LaValle. . <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Scalze, Collova, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 20, page 359. <br />Fahey reported that the William Conley request for Conditional Use Permit <br />for auto sales in Ryan Industrial Park has been tabled by the Planning <br />Commission pending further information. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 88 -8 -352 - CONTINUING THE <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE WILLIAM CONLEY REQUEST <br />FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR AUTO SALES UNTIL <br />THE SEPTEMBER 28, 1988 COUNCIL MEETING <br />Page 54 <br />
