(612) 487 -1812 <br />SP89 -031 COST ESTIMATE <br />FOR ADDITIONAL SOIL BORING & <br />GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING REPORT SERVICES <br />Proposed Roadway Reconstruction <br />Ryan Drive, Ryan Lane, and <br />Spruce Street <br />Little Canada, MN <br />Dear Mr. Chlebeck: <br />As discussed with Mr. Ewald Beise of M.W. Carley & <br />Associates on March 20, 1989, we are sending this Cost <br />Estimate for additional geotechnical services for the above <br />referenced project. <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />As discussed with Mr. Beise, it appears that the scope of <br />drilling work will be exceeded by +35% due to the fill and <br />organic deposits being much deeper than originally believed. <br />Our initial estimate was based on a total footage of +350 <br />feet. It now appears that the total footage will likely <br />approach +500 feet to complete the 14 borings. <br />BASIS FOR PROPOSAL <br />We estimate that an additional 12 hours of time will be <br />required to complete the drilling. The estimated additional <br />costs for these services is $1,650.00. The enlarged scope <br />is not expected to affect our original estimate of <br />engineering services. <br />Page 20 <br />
