COSTS OF ORGANIZED COLLECTION <br />1. White Bear Lake: is presently negotiating a new contract <br />that will go into effect in July. The prices listed do <br />not include the April increase at the Newport facility <br />amounting to about $1.55 to $1.60 per household. The <br />prices listed do include weekly pickup of recyclables and <br />yard waste during the growing season. <br />$11.75 /mo.- 90 gallons <br />$ 9.74/mo.- 60 gallons <br />$ 3.00 /mo.- optional fee for container rental <br />The above prices do include a 50t /household charge for <br />the city to bill and collect. <br />2. North St.Paul: will be negotiating a new contract to <br />take effect in October. Their bi- monthly recycling <br />pickup is paid for by a grant from Ramsey Co. Their grant <br />will expire at the end of the year. No.St.Paul is <br />currently involved in a pilot program paid by Met Council <br />to pick up compostable yard waste during the season. <br />Residents who want service may purchase biodegradable <br />bags at local convenience stores. Bags are 30t each <br />which includes the cost of. pickup. Actual cost is closer <br />to 50 -60t/ bag. The same contractor picks up <br />recyclables twice monthly <br />Rubbish removal costs are: <br />$12.75/mo.- 90 gallons plus 2 bags <br />$ 1.50 /additional bag over contracted amount <br />$ 9.25/mo.- 90 gallons <br />$ 6.50 /mo.- 30 gallons <br />The above prices do not include the April increase of <br />$1.55 to $1.60 /HH for increased tipping costs. <br />3.
