The prices which can be used for estimating budgets are as follows: ITEM DESCRIPTION PRICE Metafile $ 95 Metaview $375 Shipping $ 15 TOTAL COST $485 PROCOMM, the communications software to be used with the modems must also be ordered separately. It is provided by Datastorm Technologies, Inc. at a cost of $ 50. The purchase orders will be submitted to the vendors by the State Aid Office. Delivery will be made directly to each city. The vendor will set up the equipment and warranty it for 1 full year. Once the items have been delivered and payment made, the cities will submit invoices to the State Aid Office and the reimbursement of 60% of the cost (60% times $7191 = 4314.60) will be processed. Another item which each city should budget for is computer training. It should include training for Introduction to the Personal Computer and the Disk Operating System. Also included should be training for the various software packages, which includes Metafile, Metaview, Word Perfect, Lotus 123, and Procomm. We are suggesting that you include an additional $1500 for training in your budget to provide full training -Tor two individuals. That amount will not be reimbursed from the State Aid Office. The reason that we are stressing the importance of purchasing eqipment and software at this time is because the Contract Administration Office is requiring that all cities that have federal projects let after July 1, 1990 must use CARS.
