MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />September 14, 1989 <br />DeLonais asked why landscaping and other items were not <br />completed as part of the first phase. <br />Kaufman replied that Slumberland should not have been <br />issued an occupancy permit on the first phase if items <br />were not completed satisfactorily. Kaufman reported <br />that he is willing to put up a bond to ensure that all <br />details are resolved as part of the second phase. <br />Herkenhoff asked if Yorkton Ltd. was responsible for <br />completing the project satisfactorily. <br />The City Planner replied that this was not a question <br />for the City to answer. The construction contract was <br />between Slumberland and Yorkton. <br />Costa pointed out that during the past week concrete <br />blocks have been dumped on the site. <br />Kaufman reported that those have been brought in and <br />will be ground up and used as fill under the addition. <br />Drabik pointed out the pictures contained in the <br />Planner's report showing the debris on the site. <br />Kaufman stated that that debris was to have been <br />removed by Yorkton prior to tonight's meeting but was <br />not. <br />Costa asked why there was the need to store <br />semi - trailers on the site and why efforts have not been <br />made to screen these trailers. <br />Kaufman replied that Slumberland owns two trailers <br />which are stored on the site, and periodicly has <br />trailers from vendors at the site. Kaufman also <br />reported that the landscaping proposed at the rear lot <br />line was proposed in an effort to screen the <br />semi - trailers. <br />Costa asked if there was retail business at the site. <br />Kaufman replied that there was not at this time, <br />although Slumberland has been granted a license for <br />some retail activity. <br />Costa asked for comments from the public on this <br />matter. <br />Mylon Moravetz, 476 Allen Avenue, submitted pictures <br />showing the concrete that has been hauled into the <br />Page 3 <br />
